Spectacular Landscapes

Discover the secrets of landscape photography in our Spectacular Landscape Days – understanding and using light, composition and location to create great results. Tuition in panoramic photography of scenic vistas, the use of filters to provide more balanced colour saturation and the application of High Dynamic Range techniques are just some of the topics we can cover. If you would like to learn more about landscape photography techniques and to understand how to take panoramas of scenic vistas, this is the course for you!

Stunning scenery and dramatic locations are right here on our doorstep. Ranging from unspoilt coastlines, to the tops of some of the highest mountains in the country, not to mention the spectacular lochs and glens of the Highlands, the photographic possibilities are endless. Atmospheric landscapes and panoramic vistas provide limitless photographic opportunities to explore new perspectives and compositions, whilst the ever changing light adds to the creative potential.

If you would like to experience some of the most iconic scenery in the Highlands with an emphasis on landscape photography, our Landscape Workshop is for you. West coast locations such as Assynt, Skye and Lochalsh, Kintail, Applecross and Torridon are all easily reached from Inverness. Inland locations include iconic Glen Affric, the Cairngorms National Park and Speyside whilst the Moray coast and landmarks such as Bow Fiddle Rock are easily accessible in the east. Not forgetting Inverness and the home station of the Black Isle of course!

Spectacular Landscapes workshops are generally low level days, with some walking required, usually on paths, to the photography location. The emphasis is on photography and tuition to help improve your photography. Basing ourselves at one or two locations each day, our workshops give you the time to fully explore and absorb the surroundings, considering composition and, as well as receiving photographic tuition, you will be guided to explore new perspectives and compositions.
