Everyone who attends learns how to straighten a stick, make a “proper” traditional peg joint to fix the handle to the shank and use simple tools to work the handle and shank to a finished stage. No power tools are used by students – all sawing and drilling is done before the class. There is a choice of different handle types in wood and antler to use.

All materials and tools are provided on the day.

Cost per person is £150.00 for the full day 10am to 4pm. Class limited to 2 people. Classes are run all year round, preferably on a Sunday but midweek can be arranged.

This course is for people aged 18 and over (due to insurance requirements).

What’s included in the price?

All tools and materials are supplied and all refreshments are included. All handles are pre-cut and drilled so there will be no use of power tools on this basic course.
